The Right Tools
Make All the Difference

A thorough home inspection isn’t just about experience — it’s also about having the right tools for the job. At J.W. McCool Home Inspection Services, we invest in professional-grade equipment to uncover issues that might otherwise go unnoticed. From thermal imaging to drone roof inspections and precision radon testing, our tools help deliver accurate results and peace of mind.

Clear, detailed photos are a key part of every report. We use high-resolution DSLR photography to document findings and provide clients with a visual understanding of both concerns and routine conditions.

Our FLIR thermal camera helps us identify hidden issues like moisture intrusion, missing insulation, and overheating electrical components — problems that often go undetected with the naked eye.
For properties where roof access is difficult or unsafe, we use a drone to capture high-quality aerial images. This allows us to safely inspect roofs, chimneys, flashing, and upper exterior elements without compromising safety.

Professional-grade voltage meters are used to check outlets, GFCIs, and other electrical components, helping identify safety hazards like reversed polarity or failed ground connections.

We use EPA-compliant, industry-leading SunRADON detectors to provide accurate, reliable radon measurements. These continuous monitors offer hour-by-hour readings for a clear, certified assessment of radon levels in your home.

By investing in the best tools available, we’re able to provide the most accurate, detailed, and reliable inspections possible. Our advanced technology doesn’t just enhance what we see — it enhances what you understand. It’s all part of our commitment to delivering exceptional service with integrity, clarity, and care.
